Meet our Para Professionals

Lauren Bloom

Mrs. Bloom is in her fifth year as a paraprofessional at GRE. This job fills her bucket by being able to help kids grow on a daily basis. She loves the excitement and desire the kids bring every day to learn. She has two children, Will, an 8th grader at Summit and Maddy, a 5th grader at GRE. It is fun for her to be able to work at the school that her children attend. Mrs. Bloom and her family have lived in the Governors Ranch community for 8 years now. She is married to Eric and also has two dogs, Lily and Sadie. In Mrs. Bloom’s spare time, she loves to read, play tennis, ski, hike, camp, go to the beach and spend time with family and friends. Mrs. Bloom is looking forward to the 2023-2024 school year!

He is a music teacher and they have five children who all went to GRE. Now, their two sons attend college, and their three daughters are high school and middle school ages. A teacher by trade but home with her children, Mrs. Farrell started out as a parent at GRE (for 15 GREat years), serving as a class and library volunteer. She then becoming a PTA member, board member, and committee chair. When her youngest (now a sixth grader) began as a kindergartener, Mrs. Farrell happily started on as a substitute teacher for GRE. Now she is loving her daily role as a para, and is so thankful for her GRE family and all the wonderful kids she has gotten to know over her years at the school.

Nicki Weist

This is Nicki’s first year with GRE. He’s taught swim classes for two years, and during the summer, he’s a lifeguard supervisor at the Elitch Gardens water park. He’s been lifeguarding for 5 years now. Nicki is currently working towards a history degree with an intent on teaching history, though he hasn’t decided on what grade level yet. Nicki has lived in Colorado all his life, initially living in Evergreen, then moving down to Denver 5 years ago. Funnily enough, Principal Lucas was Nicki’s principal in the 4th and 5th grade. Nicki enjoys reading history books and comics, dying his hair and hopes to start working on freelance journalism in his downtime.
